Community Service & Contribution. Lisa’s call to be a change and impact-maker was seeded when she was just a young girl, growing up in a family (especially her mother!) that prioritized community service, helping others, and living a life of kindness and compassion.
Several key events in her childhood served as the initial catalysts for a life-long commitment to advocacy. The tragic death of Lisa’s infant sister, Jaime, inspired her involvement in children’s health, a commitment that has grown stronger over the years. Lisa began her environmental activism as a teenager. As a student journalist, Lisa researched and wrote about federal plans to clean-up the radioactive waste site located less than a mile from her high school. The experience was one of the first in which she realized she wasn’t one to sit on the sidelines when citizen action was needed, and she has consistently stepped up to lend her voice, resources, and tenacious energy to create positive change and impact in the communities where she lives and works.
As a business owner and entrepreneur, Lisa has contributed hundreds of hours of professional pro-bono and volunteer service to local and national causes. Just a few examples include: founding purpose workshop facilitator and Leadership Team member for the Blue Zones Project® of Southwest Florida, as well as a Community Partner to David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health. As a former lifeguard and swim instructor, Lisa serves as a member of the Drowning Prevention Committee of the Safe and Healthy Children’s Coalition of Collier County. She also served on the Board of Trustees at Unity of Naples Church for six years, including two years as President facilitating a leadership transition and Hurricane Irma recovery.
A primary interest for the last 15 years has been teaching and coaching around the power of emotional intelligence as a catalyst for personal, relationship, organizational, and societal transformation. which she believes are the foundational for any meaningful, authentic, and lasting change.
